glume much shorter than the outer one, lanceolate, pointed
and entire. Stamens usually 2.
The specimens figured were gathered at the Greve
d’Azette, Jersey, growing in loose sand. It is also found
in several other sandy places in that island, such as the
Quenvais, St. Ouen’s Bay, &c., flowering in June and
