2. AL'op/ii7a (Hooker.) Stipes aud main fiexuose rachis pale colored, rough with minute points and luuricated with
very short blunt black spines, fronds bi-pinnate, coriaceous, rachis everywhere hairy above, beneath clothed as well as the costa with ciliated
scales, some short and minute, the majority very long slender appressed reseinbiing coarse shaggy liair, pinnules sessile, narrow-lanceolate
gradually tapering into a very slender point deeply pinnatifid almost to the rachis, segmeuts narrow, ovate, oblong, rather obtuse, falcate, the
margin (when dry) strongly recurved, pale beneath where the costa and oven the veins are often hairy, veins forked, sori occupying nearly
the whole length and breadth of the segments, and in a measure covered by the crinite scales—Hook. Sp. Fil. 1. 54.
