 Mne  of  the  wax,  infeBed  into  the  veßels  of  the  womb,  hadpajed  
 into  the  branches  of  thofe  veffels  which  compofe  the  navel-flring  ;  and  as  
 they  contained  only fome  blood,  they  were  not  diftinaiy  marked,  where  
 they fpreatl,  from  the  navel-ßring,  over  thè  internal  furface  of  the  placenta. 
   But  the  cells,  or  interfiices  in  thefpungy  part  of  the  placenta  
 were  univerfally  loaded  luith  wax;  either  the'blue,  which  was  injeäed  
 into  the  veins  of  the  womb,  or  the  red,  which  was  thrown  into  the  arteries. 
   This  is  illußrated  by  Fig.  11.  
 The  membranes,  coming  out from  the  edge  of  the  placenta,  and  mveßing  
 the  zuomb all  around.  
 The  edge  of  the  placenta,  in  this  cafe,  was  much  more  elevated  and  
 dißinll,  its fpungy  fubfiance  being  diflended.
