T H I S Styphelia, as are all the known fpecies of the genus, is a native of N e w Holland, and was
a m o n g l t the firft p l a n t s w h i c h w e r e raifed from feeds from t h a t c o u n t r y . It is a h a r d y greenhoufe
p l a n t ; grows very bufhy, handfome in its foliage, a n d feldom exceeds t w o feet in h e i g h t . It is p r o p
a g a t e d b y c u t t i n g s , made from t h e t e n d e r fhoots, about t h e m o n t h of A p r i l ; and t r e a t e d as d i r e c t ed
for o t h e r p l a n t s natives of t h e fame clime. Should b e p l a n t e d in fandy peat earth.
