The adult female appears to differ from the male in having the greyish-blue of the upper parts
more or less suffused with green, most so on the mantle and least' so on the upper tail-coverts.
The young in first plumage, of which there is a single example in the British Museum, differs
from the young of Geocichla citrina in having the feathers of the mantle, the scapulars, and the
greater and median wing-coverts dull brown, with rusty-coloured shaft-streaks.
The species is figured on the same Plate as G. cyanonota, the bird being represented of the size
of life. The figure is drawn from a male specimen in my collection, obtained by Captain Wimberley
in the Nicobar Islands in February 1874.
