H IS Bird weighs nineteen
Penny-Weight, and is about
the bignefs of a Sparrow.
The Eyes are large. The
Head and upper-part of the Body, Tail
and Wings are of a bright blue, except
that the Ends of the Wing-Feathers are
brown. The Throat and Breaft, of a dirty
Red; The Belly white. ’Tis a Bird of a
a very fwift Flight, its Wings being very
long;To that the Hawk generally purfues
it in vain. They make their Nefts inHoles
of Trees; areharmlefs Birds, and refemble
our Robin-red-breaft. They feed on Infects
only.

of North America, I having feen them in
Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and thi

les extrémités des plumes des ailes font
brunes. Sa gorge & fa poitrine font dun
rouge faie. Son ventre efi blanc. Cet oifeau
vole fort vite, Jes ailes étant très
longues, en forte que le faucon le pourfuit
en vain. I l fa it fon nid dans les trous des
arbres. Ç efl un oifeau fort doux : Il
rejfemble, à notre rouge-gorge. I l ne fe
nourrit que dlnfelles. lie ft très commun
dans toute /’Amérique feptentrionaleKwr
