T H I S fine fpecies of Antholyza was received by Meffrs. Grimwood and Wykes, Kenfington, from the
Cape of Good Hope, in t h e year 1 7 9 6 ; they poffefs three varieties, and we mould have been happy
t o have given a bloflbm of the third, but, it was out of flower before our drawing was taken, which
was, in the end of J u n e , tins year. It is a hardy bulb, and increafes freely, either by the feed, or
from the root, and ihould be planted in fandy peat, with a fmall m i x t u r e of loam.
