T H I S mod Singular Gladiolus was received, amongft a variety of others, Ín t h e year 1 7 9 9 , from the
Cape of Good Hope, by Meflrs. Lee and Kennedy, H a m m e r f m i t h ; at whofe nurfery it flowered in
March, this year 1 8 O I , f o r the firft time. It is a hardy b u l b , and propagates freely from t h e root;
grows about t w o feet high, and, before flowering, has m u c h t h e a p p e a r a n c e of G. trifiis.
