T H E rufty-flowered Mullein of the K e w C a t a l o g u e, collated from S u t h e r l a n d s l l o r t u s Mcdicus Edinburghenfis,
is u n d o u b t e d l y our p l a n t ; b u t , though it ftands a n a m e in the book, we m u c h qnelt.on
its having graced the garden, at the time of its publication. It certainly has been loft to us above a
c e n t u r y , and but r e c e n t l y i n t r o d u c e d to t h e Oxford Botanic Garden by the late Dr. faibihorpe. Being
a h a r d y b i e n n i a l , it will perfect its feeds about J u l y , which may be town in Auguft the lame year.
I t w i l l - r o w in any foil, but a fandy comport of light peat and loam luits it m o l l The flowers on
t h e fpikes, which grow fometimes to t h e l e n g t h of four feet, c o n t m u e to e x p a n d , upwards, tor above
