T H I S curious Ixia was introduced from the Cape of Good Hope, in t h e year 1SOO, by G. H i b b e r t,
Efq. and is, w e believe, in t h e pofleffion of no other in this kingdom. It is a tender bulb, flowering
about A p r i l , or May, and appears, either by t h e bulb, or feed, to be flow of mcreafe. The bulb,
from which our figure was taken, was p l a n t e d in l i g h t , fandy peat earth.
