inaequales, 5-11 lineas long®, 1-3 lineas latae, ovatae, qugedam lineares, alias oblongo-ellipticae. Spica terminalis,
ovata, apice conspicue mascula, ad ej us basin 1-3 arete sessiles lineares tote mascuke vel flosculis
feemineis paucis basi instructee, ebracteatas; intermedias subsessiles approximate; inferiores deorsum longius
exserte pedunculate vel androgyne vel tote foeminee; infima basi laxiflora et rarius composita (spicula unica
basi aucta) subremota. Squama ferruginee nervo pallido margine-albo-membranacee late ovate acuminate
mucronulateque dorso versus medium hispide. M;Pe<fowctt&' triquetri, hispidi, 2 lin. ad 2 poll, longi. Bractece
foliacee anguste sursum decrescentes, vaginate, inferior culmum paululum superans. Perigynium lin.
longum, lineam latum, ellipticum vel oblongo-ovatum, compressum, ore membranaceo oblique bifido, nervosum,
superne ferrugineum hispidum, infeme pallidum glabrum. marginibus serrato-scabrum. Achenium oblongo-
triquetrum, longe stipitatum, -g- lin. longum (cum stipite lineam longum) ^ lin. latum, pallide castaneum.
