We have reafon to conclude that this fuperb Butterfly has never been figured by any preceding author.
Fabricius defcribed it in his Entomologia Syfiematka from one o f the original drawings, in the colleftion of
Mr. Jones, and refers exclufively to that figure, in a fynonym to his defcription. Mr. Jones having obligingly
aflifted us with his colleftion o f drawings, and given us permiflion to copy any o f them, we cannot
withhold enriching our volume with a figure o f Papilio Laomedon.
The fpecimen, from which the drawing was made, was in the colleftion o f Mr. Latham.
