The beauty of the preceding fpecies claims our notice: Papilio Crino, our admiration. Its form is
graceful, its colours fplendid; and in addition to thofe attraftions, it is extremely rare. We have found
an unique fpecimen o f this fpecies in the colleftion o f Mr. Drury, and on that authority we include it as
a native o f China. It has not been figured by any author. Fabricius deferibes the fame infeft under thc
fpecific name Crino, erroneoufly giving its habitat, Africa.

Flowered in the fummer of the prefent year, both in the ftove of G. Hibberts, Efq. and a t Meifrs.
Grimwoods and Wyke's, Kenfington. I t is a raajeftic plant, near feven feet in height, and bears a fine
pendent group of flowers at the furamit.

This is one o f the largeft Chinefe Papiliones we are acquainted with. The upper and under furfaces fo
nearly agree, that we have confidered a figure o f the firft unnccefiary. I t is reprefented with Papilio
Coon on the

Wings tailed, indented, above black, green at the bafe: beneath, pale at the ends. Seven lunar marks
on the pofterior wings.

Uncommonly fcarce, and not hitherto figured. Fabricius has given it as a new fpecies, Peranthus, and
refers to a fpecimen in the colleftion of the Right Hon. Sir J . Banks, Bart. That infeft came from Cochin
China. We have feen another, which came from Canton: it is reprefented on a fmall twig of
A ru ndo Baml'os. Bamboo or Cane.
This well known plant is mentioned by Sir G. Staunton among the moft ufeful produftions o f China.
