This, and tlie next fpecies, are defcribed by Fabricius, in the two new genera. Cetonia and Melolontha.
They are Scarabaei o f the Linnæan fyflem. Cetonia Chinenfis is a fine and very rare infed.

This fpecimen nearly correfponds with one o f the Melolontha viridis figured by Olivier, which came
from the Cape o f Good H o p e : our in fed is undoubtedly from China.
