PLATE XXXIX.
DACOTA.
I received this skull from the late Dr. Poole, of this city, hut could obtain
no particulars, excepting the fact of its having belonged to a Sioux warrior of bad
character, and who was killed by some act of violence on the northwestern
frontier. The small squared head, the great comparative breadth between the
parietal hones, and indifferent frontal development, correspond precisely with those
features as observed in the individuals of the Sioux delegation already mentioned.
