SH O U LD the traveller wifh to vifit the
celebrated ifle of Staffa, one of the wefteru
Hebrides, the following Ihort account may
perhaps prove interefting. I fhall not attempt
to delineate the vaft extent of mountainous
country I travelled over: that would
require a work of time, and could not be
accomplifhed in few words.
From Glafgow I determined to make a
pedeftrian tour to Staffa ; accordingly I fet
out for Dunbarton about 15 miles diftance,
