of limeftone is regularly ftratified, and varies
conliderably in depth, being in fome places
thin, while in others, as already mentioned,
it is extended to more than two hundred
fathom. It forms the uppermoft ftratum
eaft of Wirkfworth, at Matlock, at Winfter,
Aftiford, Eyam, Buxton hills, Monyafh, and
