Account of the Effon Copper Mind»
T h e E&on copper mine is the only one.
Of any confequence in Derbyfhire; to which
though on the edge of Staffordfhire, it is
generally reputed to belong.
The general produce of this mine, is
mafiive rich yellow copper ore, frequently
in contact with galena and blende, but fpe-
cimens occur of purple, fteel-blue, brown,
or brafs-yellow colours. The ore yields
from forty to fixty per cent, and is fome-
times vitreous and black.
Sometimes, though rarely, it is cryftallized
in the cube, and its modifications.
No fpecimens whatever can exceed the
