cies of Rose. Summer, extremely frequent about Edinburgh.
Tujis from a line to a quarter o f an inch broad, sometimes confluent, depressed,
silky, creeping at the margin, white, a t length tinged with
brown in the centre. Peridia greenish, sessile, globose, numerous, very
minute. Filaments numerous, enveloping the peridia, and rising above
them, simple, elongated, jointed.
A new species, having much of the habit of a Mucor, or
rather of a Sporotrichum. The genus, however, is very satisfactorily
ascertained by microscopical investigation. Its growth
is rapid, and it speedily extends itself when once in possession
of a rose-bush.
