Pileus stipitatus aut sessilis, plus mimisve cupuliformis vel complanaius, tubulis
ehngatis sporuVferis in pagina superiore.
Pileus stipitate or sessile, dilated into a more or less cup-shaped or flattish
receptacle, with tubular elongated sporuliferous cells in the upper surface
or disk.

prominente, membranaceo, pallido; stipite cylindrico roseo.
P. cup (or pileus) smooth, urceolate, orange colour, with a prominent, membranaceous,
pale margin ; stipes cylindrical, pink.

Very small, gregarious. Pileus or cup roundish, urceolate, a line a t most
in diameter, often less, smooth, wax-like, semipellucid, fine orange colour,
with a membranaceous whitish margin, which is erect and prominent,
and in old specimens often lacerated or irregular. Stipes scarcely
a line high, cylindrical, smooth, pale rose-pink, attenuated at the base.
Sporidia oval.
This exceedingly beautiful and unconimon species lias been
named after tbe Father of systematic Mycology, the celebrated
P e r s o o n , by my excellent friend Dr M o u g e o t . Thus distinguished,
it appeared in P e r s o o n ’s Mycologia Europ®a, and
soon after in the second volume of the hitherto unrivalled Sys-
