of Batavia, and drive the Dutch and French troops,
after a smart action, from the cantonments of Wel-
tervrieden.
August 26.—The British troops storm the entrenched
position of the enemy at Cornelis, within
three mjles of the city of Batavia, and take it in a
very gallant manner.
