The Hirundinidtp occupy pp. 46-51, and this year marks an epoch in the history of the Family, for
in the ‘ Museum Heineanum ’ Cabanis described no less than four new genera and three new species, all
of which, save his Ps. cypselina, are fully recognized by ornitliologists. The genera were :__
Petroclielidon (p. 47). Tj-pe P. melanogaster (Sw.).
Tachycineta (p. 48). Type T. thalassinus (Sw.).
Psalidoprocne (p. 48). Type P. cypselina, sp. n. [ = P . holomelcena (Sund.)].
Cheramoeca (p. 49). Type C. leucosternum (Gould).
Cotile minor (p. 49) and C. obsoleta (p. 50), spp. nn., N.E. Africa.
