Aduli female. General colour above glossy steel-greeu ; lesser aud median wing-covcrts like the back ;
greater coverts, bastard-wing, primary-coverts, and quills blackish, extcrually washed with green,
the inner second.aries margiued with white towards the tip oE the outer web and at the end ;
rump Avhite, slightly washed with smoky browu, some of the feathers tipped witli dusky hrowii ;
upper tail-covcrts dull steel-green ; tail-feathers blackish with a slight greenish gloss ; crown of
head like tho back; lores velvety black; base of forehead white, extending a little backwards
above the lores ; car-coverts blackish glossed with steel-green ; checks aud entire under surface of
body white, iucludiug the thighs aud under tail-coverts ; a patch of glossy steel-grccii on each
side of the upper breast; Hanks and sides of body washed with smoky brown ; axillaries and
