Brehm adopts Boie’s genus Cecropis for Hirundo rustica (p. 137), with a second form Ore,-0, a .
naaornm. This name has been adopted hy recent writers for tho richly-oolonrcd m.hv,duals ot Hmmdo
rustica whicli arc often mistaken to r Hirundo savignii. Brehm does not Ibuml his species on the
rufous colour ot the uiiilerparts, but upon the more flattened skull and longer toes of Ills C. p yo v um .
Chelidon urbica is divided into three races, viz.: 1. C. urbica (p. 139), 2. C'. fcnestramm (p -Kl),
3. C. rupestris (p. 110). Cotgle riparia has two other forms, Cotyle fiumatihs (p. M2) and Uirlidon
(lapsu I) microrhynchos. Cotyle rupestris has uo subspecies or races attached to it.

Tlic description leaves little doubt of the species intended by the proposer, but he identifies his
Hirundo rufula, which he apparently described from Sicilian specimens, with Hirundo capensis of
Gmelin, and mixes up the “ Hiroudelie roussclinc ” of Levaillant, &c.
