To-day we have had a breeze
from the SW.
During the afternoon the
wind shifted to the Eastward,
where it remained, and blew a
steady breeze.
Sunday, A v g u s t 18, 1816.
After midnight we had a
moderate breeze from the Eastward,
and at 4 A.M. it freshened
up at ENE, where it continued
until the evening, at which
time it shifted to the SE, with
rain.
At eight it was nearly calm.
About nine a breeze sprung
up from the Eastward* accompanied
by rain.
Monday) A u g u st 19,1816.
A light air.
Towards noon the breeze
freshened up at North-easterly,
where it continued all day, and
blew rather fresh, with a short
swell.
Tuesday, A u g u s t 20, 1816.
During the night it blew a
steady fresh breeze from NNE,
in which quarter it continued
all this day.
The sky having athreatening
appearance.
Towards the evening moderated.
Near midnight the wind came
round to the SW, and blew a
moderate breeze.
