T his magnificent fpecies o f Papilio which is perfectly undefcribed, was not received till very lately In
this country from New South Wales. T h e fpecimen from whence th e figures in th e annexed plate are
delineated is in th e poiTeflion o f A. Macleay, Efq. Since the drawing was taken we have obtained a
butterfly o f tlie fame fpecies th a t accords raoft completely with th e fpecimen above-mentioned. W e are
to confider this and the following fpecies as two o f the raoft valuable acquifitions the entomologifts have
h ith erto obtained from the Auftralafian regions.
