A moft curious infeft from New South Wales, in th e cabinet o f Mr, Francillon. This fpecies is ap-
pofitely named Lepidopterus by D r. Schreibers, in the paper above referred to, from the villofe fpots
on the wing-cafes, which, when attentively examined, appear cloathed with a fort o f fcaly down, or*
feathering, moft exadüy refembling th a t which we obferve on th e wings o f Lepidopterous infefts, This
fpecies o f Prionus is probably unique in this country, or perhaps in Europe.

apice fub-emarginatis.
This alfo is a new fpecies from the fame cabinet and country as the preceding.

cabinet, it appears this fpecies was firft difcovered by Mr. Bailey the aflronomer, in th e expedition o f
Capt. Cook round th e world.
