This fpecies o f Tettlgonia muft b e confidered an interefting infeft, i f only for its fize, in which refpeft
i t is fcarcely Inferior to any other in fe ft o f tire fame geiins we are a t prefent acquainted with from other
p arts o f th e world. I n New Sonth Wales this fpecies appears to be ra th e r common, foe we have feen many
fpecimens o f it bro u g h t to England a t dift'erent times from th a t country. I n all o f thefe, th e prevailing
colour o f th e body, head, and thorax, was uniformly teftaceous, fu b jeft however to confiderable variation
in tire tints and lhades o f colour. Some in particular th a t have occurred to notice were teftaceons tinged
with green, and others inclining to a pale olive. T h is is one o f the Cicadte in the Linntean arrangement;
and certainly has not been defcribed by any autlior.
