of the north coast. No further accounts of this fine bird have been received than that
it inhabits the thick ‘ cane-beds7 near the coast, through which it runs with great
facility; the boldness and richness of its markings render it a most attractive object in
the bush.”
There is no perceptible difference in the plumage of the sexes. The plate represents
two adult individuals, and the graceful plant behind them is the Sericograpliis
Ghiesbregtiana, (Ghiesbreght’s Sericographis.)
