As we are thus obliged to trust to the fidelity of a Japanese artist for the determination
of this species, it is impossible to say whether it has sufficient claims to be considered
distinct fi’om the Pitta Brachyura. (B. Bengalensis.)
I am not aware of any collection which contains an example of this species.
The Plant is the Anemone Japonica. Its flower stems rise from a foot to eighteen
inches in height, and bear a profusion of blossoms.
The Creeper is the Heliophila Trifida—Trifid Suncress.
