W hat has b een said in praise of the Polypodium longipes
may he repeated with the P . phymatodes, which is a F e rn in
the same section, and equally deserving of commendation.

of these F e rn s if not destroyed; it will therefore be well to
examine the un d e r side of the fronds from time to time, m
