A native of N o rth America, T exas, Missouri, the Rocky

I t does not now appear to he a species easily procured, as
it is only in the Catalogue of Mr. Sim, of F o o t’s Cray.
I have not yet been fortunate enough to procure a plan t of
this species.
T h e re is a diversity of opinion amongst the principal authorities
on F e rn s, as to whether this species be a Nothochlcena
or a Cheilanthes; from an examination of the fronds, the former
appears to me the genus to which it should be attached.
To Mr. H en d e rso n , of W en tw o rth ; and to Mr. Norman, of
H u ll, my thanks are due for nicely fructified fronds of this
species.
