pinnæ dcflexed, the fronds ab ru p t at the top, with a pinnatifid-
lauceolate tail-like terminal pinna. Pinnæ lanceolate, the lower
ones tapering towards the base, sessile, acuminate-pinnatifid, the
segments blu n t, oblong, and somewhat falcated. F e rtile fronds
nearly ovate, with narrower more distant pinnæ, the lower of
which are narrowed towards the base; fertile throughout. The
u p p e r pinnæ are broad and ab ru p t, and not narrowed at the
base.
Sori abundant, round, becoming effuse and confluent in lines,
forming a double series up the centre of the lobes, from the
main costa to the apex of the lobe, the lobes somewhat wider
ap a rt at the base.
A handsome F e rn , with b rig h t green shining fronds, having
a distinct aspect from the presence of the broader b a rren , and
narrower fertile fronds, and also remarkable for the tapering
towards the base of the lower pinnæ.
