T h e P olypodium diversifolium, known best u n d e r the name
D r yn a ria diversifolia, is a recently introduc ed and interesting
species; its elegant fronds and graceful habit must win it many
admirers, and when more generally known in the N u rserymen’s
Catalogues, will doubtless be extensively cultivated among the
amateur F e rn growers.
A stove evergreen species.
T his F e rn , which is a native of the Philip p in e Islands, of Java,
and of New Hollan d , about Moreton Bay, and within the tropics,
is evidently a vigorous grower, reaching three, and probably
four feet in heig h t, with lanceolate pinnæ, the lower ones three
q uarters of an inch in length.
Rhizoma creeping, scaly, stoutish, with lateral-articulated
fronds.
