Calomelanos—Beautiful black.
T h is graceful and fine species, known as one of the Silver
Perns, from the u n d e r side of the fronds being covered with
a farinose powder, is one of the most ornamental of the stove
species. I t is a native of the “West Indies, Jamaica, St.
Domingo, Guiana, Brazil, Mexico, the Island of St. Catharine,
the Caribbee Islands, etc. An evergreen P e rn .
I t is a much larg e r P e rn tlian Gymnogramma chrysophylla,
the fronds on my specimen exceeding three feet in length, the
