T h e r e are so many beautiful F e rn s th a t it is consequently a
difficult task which species to recommend most strongly to the
notice of cultivators; and indeed to do justice to them, it must
be said th a t the beautiful largely predominate over those that
are less interesting in an ornamental poin t of view. The
frond of the p resent species closely resembles a handsome broad
spreading green feather in general appearance, and is capable
of being made, u n d e r successful cultivation, a splendid exhibition
