G y m n o g r a m m a r u i ’A is an interesting sxiecies, more nearly
resembling G. tomcntosa than any other F e rn , indeed a person
not conversant with the distinctive differences of the two
species, would probably believe them to be the same plant.
The chief difference consists in the frond being pinnate instead
of hipinnate, and in the pinna; being rounded at the ape.x
instead of being acuminate, as is the case with G. tomentom.
I t is a native of jMcxico and the tropical regions of America.
