An evergreen stove species.
Native of India, Java, Ceylon, Moluccas, and Mascaren
Islands.
Tire fronds, which are deltoid, are bipinnate, with pinnæ
alternate above, sub-opposite below; pinnnles petiolate, the
base rounded below, and rhomboid-ovate-angled above. Apex
serrato-dentate. Lowest pinnules pinnatifid. Fronds glabrous,
paler on the under side.
Sori contiguous, near the costa, and nearly straight.
Stem ebeneous.
A very variable species.
L ength of frond from two to three feet, stipes from twelve
to fifteen inches.
