A s interesting and desirable variety of our English Scolopendrium
vulgare, raised by Mr. Clapham, of Scarborough, a
gentleman -well known for the many remarkable varieties he
has added to our British Ferns.
The present species is most variable, the fronds being irreg u
larly margined, and their apices multifid.
So variable is the form of the fronds of this F e rn , that no
two are alike.
L ength of frond nine to twelve inches.
For the fronds illustrated 1 am indebted to Mr. Clapham, of
Scarborough.
