Fronds pinnate, pinnæ linear, fi'oni two to throe inches in
length; sterile fronds everywhere very smooth; basal pinnæ trifoliate,
higher on the frond usually bifoliate, opposite or subopposite;
pinnæ short-stalked.
Stipes and rachis reddish.
Veins forked.
Sori along the veins, naked, and eventually confluent.
