ASPLENIUM FILIX-FOEMINA, V a e . D o o d io id e s .
ÏH is variety was found in Sussex, and is exceedingly beautiful
and distinct, and to all appearance quite constant. I t is
named doodioides, from the pinnæ resembling in some degree
the frond of a Eoodia. The pinnules are short and irregular,
making the pinnæ very narrow, whilst the segments are much
toothed at their apices.
L ength of frond eighteen inches.
I t is in the possession of Mr. Stansfield, of Todmorden, from
whom the frond for illustration has been received.
