GENERIC CHARACTER.
Recepiaculum clausum, demum plus minus apertum, inferne centro adfxum. H y menium
loeve, discolor ; thecisjixis.
Receptacle closed, at length more or less open, attached by the centre beneath.
Hymenium smooth, of a different colour ; thecæ fixed.

Cenan gium ferruginosum ; ' “ gregaria, coriaceo-memhranaceum, subsessile,
rugosum, subpruinosum, cervino-nigrescens, ore compresso, inflexo, húmido

C. gregarious, between membranaceous and leathery, subsessile, rugose,
somewhat pruinose, reddish-black, the orifice compressed, inflexed,
when moist spreading, the disk yellow.

Cenangium is a genus instituted by M. F r i e s , and contains
