GENEBIC CHARACTER.
Hymenium hreve, clavifarme, stipitatum, plerumque compressum, a stipite subdis-
tinctum, sed vero discretum.— Genus colore nigricante vel obscure viridi.
Hymenium short, club-shaped, furnished w ith a stipes, mostly compressed,
somewhat confluent with the stipes, b u t tru ly distinct.—Colour of the
whole genus blackish or dull green.

The hairy stipes with which this plant is furnished, is a
sufficient mark of distinction; no other species having been yet
found to possess a similar character.
