Adult female. Similar to the male, but a little duller and browner in colour, and having the
under surface of the body slightly washed with rufous. Total length 7-8 inches, wing 4-3.
The male and female described were procured on Norfolk Island by Mr. Brenchley in June
1865, and are in the British Museum. The latter is in the Seebohm Collection, and has been
figured in the Plate, along with a male procured by Mr. Brenchley on the same occasion.
