S HE parifh of S e l b o r n e lies in the extreme eaftern corner
of the county of Hamfjhire, Bordering on the county of
Suffix, and not far from the county of Surrey-, is about fifty miles
fouth-weft of London, in latitude 51, and near midway between the
towns of Alton and Petersfiell Being very large and extenfive it
abuts on twelve parilhes, two of which are in Suffix,, viz. Trotton
and-Rotate. I f you begin from the fouth and proceed weftward
the adjacent parilhes are Emjhot, Newton Valence, Fanngdon, Harteley
Mauduit, Great Ward le ham, Kingjley, Hedleigh, Bramjhot, Trotlon,
Rogate, Lyffie, and Greatham, The foils of this diftnft are almoft
as various and diverfified as the views and afpe&s. The high
