Adiantum—Dry. Cuneatum—Wedge-shaped.
No one can help admiring the graceful hab it and beautiful
form of the Brazilian Ma iden-hair, ( A d ia n tum cunea tum.) I t is
readily cultivated, req u irin g less attention th an almost any other
Fern. Give the plan t p len ty of pot room, good drainage, and
a rich lig h t soil, and do not le t the fronds become too wet,
and no fa rth e r care is need ed in order to produce a compact,
handsome plant, as near perfection in the elegance of its form
as It IS possible to a tta in ; indeed in this respec t it is second
to none. I t is a species with fronds so fragile and delicate
that it will not bear th e drip of water, often seen in badlji--
glazed greenhouses du rin g rain y weather.
