S o m e confusion exists as regarding what F e rn is to be u n d e rstood
as repre senting the tru e P te ris hiaurita, as it appears
evident th a t several species bear this name. However there can
be h u t little doubt b u t that the present F e rn is that knoYvn as
P . hiaurita of Linnæus.
I t is a handsome free-growing species, somewhat scarce in
cultivation in F n g lan d .
