A n o t h e r handsome P latyloma, easily cultivated if th e thrips
can be k e p t from it; th ey appear very fond of this F e rn , and
soon make gre a t ravages with its fronds, weakening the p lan t
to a very g re a t extent.
An evergreen greenhouse species. Native of N ew Holland.
In tro d u c ed into the Royal Gardens, K ew , in the y ear 1823,
by Mr. Allan Cunningham.
T h e form of the frond is lanceolate, pinnate ; the pinnæ being
glabrous, linear-lanceolate, oblong, bluntly-acuralnate, falcate,
cordate at the base, coriaceous. Rachis and stipes squamiferoiis.
L ate ra l, adhe ren t to a creeping rhizoma.
Sori linear, continuous, extending from the base to nearly
the apex of the frond, v ery broad. In d u sium very narrow.
L en g th of frond from one to two feet, ra th e r erect.
Colour of the frond above dull g re en , beneath paler.
