In habits the Arctic Ocean.
Tliis shell resembles the common Te llina tenuis, in general appearance, b u t nevertheless differs in shape,
in being thicker, and in having a thick epidermis, which however only remains ne a r th e ventral edge. Its
exact counte rpa rt is found in a fossil state o n the Isle of Bute, also a t Helensburg, and ne a r Glasgow.

The shell here represented must be considered merely as a variety o f Lucina inte rrupta , the only circumstance
in which it differs being tha t the radia ting grooves cover the whole shell, although they are rather less
