A t first I had mistaken the shell here figured for the B ui. c andidus o f Z iegler, b u t upon comparison I
find it to b e distinct from that, and tha t it agrees well with some colourless specimens o f Bui. Guadaloupensis,
a species which is extremely variable in its colouring and which is found in many o f the We st In d ia islands
as well a s on several parts o f the South American Main.
